General Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect property damage to residential and commercial properties (from fire, flood etc), manage remediation (following IICRC standards) and repair processes
  • Prepare computer software generated emergency service and restoration estimates
  • Maintain communication between Insurance adjusters/property managers and their clients (policyholders/tenants) on all aspects of emergency and restoration projects
  • Fully follow file processes and timelines as set by the client’s service level agreements and in-house requirements
  • Co-ordinate in-house field technician/carpenters and subtrades
  • Proper subtrade selection and subtrade management
  • Obtain competitive bids from vendors and subtrades
  • Ongoing project quality control and establish and maintain project budgets
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours work (i.e. occasional evenings and weekends)
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract
  • Clear criminal record check

Core Competencies

  • Experience in construction project management or property insurance related background would be considered an asset
  • Superior customer service
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • IICRC certified; Commercial Structural Drying certificate is a definite asset
  • Strong knowledge in computers is required; knowledge of Xactimate & Symbility estimating system and Microsoft Office is an asset

General Key Responsibilities

  • Set up inspection appointments for the Project Manager
  • Provide prompt updates to insurance adjusters, property managers and their clients (property owners and tenants)
  • Request sub-trade quotes and specialty inspections
  • Ensure all document and timeline requirements are met as set by our client service level agreements and Con-Tech’s standards
  • Maintain accurate job records in our internal job management database including detailed notes, pictures, documents, estimates, job schedules, etc.
  • Coordinate repairs; create production plans, send work orders, coordinate schedules with clients, sub-trades and internal crews, monitor job costs
  • Prepare the invoicing and closure of job files at the completion of repairs
  • Provide backup for reception and the emergency coordinator
  • Provide support to management as requested
  • Assist in training new staff

What it takes to be our Project Manager Assistant

  • A college diploma/certificate or a combination of education and a minimum of 2 years experience in Customer Service and/or Business Administration
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, word, Excel, database software, web based applications, mobile applications)

  • Organize tasks including material purchasing to maximize efficiencies
  • Ability to read a scope of work
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract

  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours work (i.e. occasional evenings and weekends)
  • Provide own tools for drywall, paint and carpentry. Must be experienced in the use of power tools.

  • Tear out building materials (flooring, drywall, etc.)
  • Inventory and pack out contents
  • Provide up to date communication and information, both verbally and written, to Managers and their teams about the status of the work performed.
  • Responsible for taking asbestos samples and following asbestos protocols before work is performed
  • Complete in house forms with detail and accuracy
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract

  • Able to lift up to 60 lbs

This position requires the successful incumbent to sit at the Reception Desk. You are a perfect fit for this position if you have a natural flair for communicating with a diverse group of people and you feel most satisfied when you know you have had a positive impact on someone’s day.

Key General Responsibilities

Reception

  • Answering phones and greeting visitors to our office
  • Sending/receiving mail, couriers and deliveries
  • Maintaining office and kitchen supplies
  • Ensuring our office equipment remains functional
  • Preparing the board room for meetings, seminars and events
Administrative Support

  • Entering new claims in our Job Management database
  • Providing updates to our Clients using online communication software
  • Entering vendor invoices and employee timesheets
  • Sending and receiving Client Work Authorization forms
  • Assisting in invoicing Clients and processing payments
  • Managing our Vendor WSIB clearance certificates and General Liability Insurance renewals
  • Updating our website and social media pages
  • Assisting with coordinating and preparing for Company functions or events
  • Providing other administrative support to the team as required

Core Competencies/Requirements

  • A college diploma/certificate or a combination of education and a minimum of 2 years experience in an office environment
  • Knowledge of key social media tools and analytics (Twitter, Facebook and Google)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and Outlook)
