Painter/Taper

Description:

Are you an experienced Taper/Painter? Do you spray ceilings well? Have you done service work? Are you considered one of the better tapers by your peers? If so, you need to contact us.

Skills Required:

• Clean and prepare surfaces
• Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency
• Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster
• Trowel or spray coats of compound over surfaces
• Finish corners and angles
• Create decorative designs in finish coat
• Mould and install ornamental fixtures
• Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings
• Measure, cut and fit and install drywall sheets
• Cut and install metal corner beads
• Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks
• Tape over joints with tape and compound
• Sand seams and joints
• Fabricate grids for acoustical and coffered ceilings
• Cut openings in laths for piping, ducts and electrical outlets
• Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation
• Ability to paint with accurracy and skill

Additional Skills: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications, estimate labour and material costs, work at heights, some paint grade carpentry.

Essential Skills: Proficient use of english language both written and verbal, basic math skills, ability to work with others, problem solving, decision making, time management and organizing.
